Never has it been more important to stay informed about the decisions being made in and around our community! In order for this civic association to ensure ALL our residents concerns and voices are being heard, we need your help! "In union there is strength", hence the efforts of many will produce results that cannot be obtained by the individual. In order to work smartly and successfully, we must band together to take united action on each and every issue impacting the Yaphank community.

As a result of past civic intervention: Brookhaven National Laboratory was designated as a Superfund Site resulting in the clean-up of radioactive waste sites; The Carmans River received designation under NY State's Wild Scenic and Recreational River Act; Baseball Heaven is operational instead of an asphalt plant; Cornfields are part of protected county farmland; and residents of Suffolk County and Brookhaven Town have acquired open space parcels, including Fox Lair, Camp Olympia and Warbler Woods. We continue to work diligently to halt development of Legacy Village. We are committed to ensuring the preservation of the Carmans River watershed as well as the eradication of the invasive weeds that are choking the Upper and Lower Lakes.

We only have to look to our east and west for the rampant development overtaking neighboring communities to know that development pressures are here and ready to change the face of our quiet Hamlet! You live here because you love our way of life, please help protect that which you value!

We are currently holding our ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of February, April, June, September and November at the Yaphank Fire House on Main Street. Meetings begin at 7:30PM. We would like to remind you that to receive notification of our meetings and other important information affecting our hamlet, as well as to have the right to vote on issues coming before us, you must be a paid member.
